DISRUPTION ON DEMAND WITH CANVAS

1. Do I need to pay any money to register for the Hackathon? No. You do not have to pay anything to anyone to register yourself for any Hackathon on HackerEarth.

2. Do I need to have any specific qualifications to be a participant for the Hackathon? If you love to find solutions with technology, you are more than welcome to participate in the Hackathon.

3. How do I submit what I have made for the Hackathon? You have to develop the application on your local system and then submit either a video or PowerPoint to HackerEarth, explaining how what you propose will solve the dilemma as you understand it.

4. Do we need to have the entire idea fully working? The entire idea need not be fully implemented. However, the submission should be as functional and complete as possible, so that it can be understood and reviewed by the judges.

5. Does one have to be online and available for the entire duration of the Hackathon? No, one does not need to be logged in on HackerEarth or be online for the entire duration. You can develop the application on your local system based on the given themes and then submit it to HackerEarth, on the specific challenge page.

6. Since there is no specific technology mentioned, are there any restrictions on using any number of pre-built libraries? There is no restriction on languages, technology stack, or libraries; you can use any of them to create your solution (web/mobile application, bot, etc.).

7. Do I need to give a demo for the product that I have built? If you want, you can submit a small presentation or video that demos your submission. However, it is not mandatory. If you are one of the winners, you might be invited to demo your solution at a virtual event, details of which will be shared with sufficient advance notice.

8. If you develop a team submission, does that mean all team members will have access to work at the same time? Yes, all team members can log in from their account and do application submission on HackerEarth.

9. Who will own the IP (Intellectual Property) Rights to the solutions that are submitted? IP from all submitted proposals will belong to Canvas Leadership. All code needs to be in public domain (open source) so that it can be evaluated by the judges.

Q1. What do you mean by global leaders who all are included in this.

 Leader from all regions, cultures and industries who engage the developed solution.

Q2. Can you state what are those exact challenges that global leaders face and what do you think will be the success criteria for that challenge to consider as solved. 

 We would encourage all developers research current and emerging leadership challenges. Some common examples include:

• the convergence of digital, technological and human
• leading in an environment that is Brittle, Anxious, Non-linear and Incomprehensible
• creating cultures where people and the organization thrive
• disrupting self, others and the organization on a continual basis
• on demand coaching
• leading in complexity
• leading inclusively
• leading remote and hybrid teams
• leading multi-generational teams

Theme 1: How might we create a globally accessible digital tool that provides real-time data on interactions: airtime (amount of time speaking), conversational behaviors, equity, inclusion and bias? 

Q3 .  This tool should provide Real-time data on whose interactions ( global leaders , managers ..) ,

Yes, how could a leader get secure data on multiple aspects of their interactions with others that includes analysis and feedback.

Q4.  What is meant by globally accessible, does it mean: available to the whole company OR does it mean publicly available to every individual OR does it mean should be available to only global leaders in their language?

 Accessible to leaders, regardless of language or device, that engage the platform.  Not publicly available.

Q5. What is meant by equity inclusion (is it company equity, or gender/race equity)?

Equity: Equity is giving everyone what they need to be successful. It is different from Equality where everyone is treated the same

Inclusion:  An Inclusive Environment is one in which members feel respected by and connected to one another; where all members contribute to the formation of the group goals and to the realization of those goals.

Theme 2: How might we provide an AI enhanced support platform to help leaders discover and embrace innovative, next-level solutions to challenges across a diverse & global workforce, while integrating human leadership skills? 

Q6. Any example that can demonstrate what you are looking for in that platform. (eg. Cross country team communication duration as one of the parameters and then its analysis solutions should be. there on the platform)?

The platform should help leaders disrupt themselves, embrace curiosity, connect/communicate and collaborate with others (inside their company? across companies?). This platform would acknowledge and embrace the convergence of digital, technological and human.

Theme 3 : How might we create a technological "tool box" to bring in new perspectives, recognize patterns, challenge biases, and bring diversity of perspectives to everyday leadership; while leveraging the human dynamics of: emotional, psychological and social.

Q7. This theme is mostly similar to Theme2 , can you tell me the difference between these 2 themes, who do you evaluate in which theme a solution is more suited?

This is similar to Theme 2.  Theme 2 was has a broader application whereas Theme 3 was designed to more specifically promote inclusion, equity and belonging. Theme 3 is slanted more towards understanding self as a leader, embracing other perspectives towards help the people they lead thrive. We recognize the similarity here and will take that into consideration when reviewing submissions.
